Port of NY/NJ redesign duty free and specialty retail concessions

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and JFKIAT, the operator of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, have selected JFK T4 Retail Partners LLC to redesign and operate duty free and specialty retail concessions at the terminal.

The partnership brings together ARI, a global travel retail operator active across 12 countries, International Shoppes, a Queens-based pioneer in the US duty free market, and a group of local and small enterprise partners.

The selection aligns with JFKIAT’s T4 North Star vision, the strategic framework underpinning the terminal’s US$ 1.5 billion transformation.

The retail concept is designed to create a distinctly New York sense of place, combining premium brand partnerships with curated local products, exclusive product launches and activation-led passenger experiences rooted in hospitality and retail innovation.

JFK T4 Retail Partners formally assumes operations on April 1, 2026, with a phased programme of store enhancements, brand introductions and experiential activations scheduled to roll out throughout the year and beyond.

Port Authority Executive Director Kathryn Garcia described the retail reimagination as a key component of the broader JFK transformation, emphasising the pairing of local businesses with global brands as central to delivering the travel experience the terminal’s passengers deserve.

The concession award continues JFKIAT’s strategy of strengthening Terminal 4’s New York City identity through partnerships that reflect the character and commercial vitality of the city.
