Furthermore, imports at the second-busiest port in the US reached 334,176 TEU in February, recording an increase of 15.4% year-on-year, while exports also rose by 9.6% from the previous year to 103,782 TEU.

During the same month, a total of 53,977 containers moved through the US East Coast port via rail, representing an increase of 9% compared to February 2021.

These figures brought the total for the year (January and February) to 1,524,298 TEU, according to PANYNJ’s data.
