The Port of Long Beach has appointed Don Kwok as its new Director of Finance.
Kwok has been with the Port since 2016, first as Assistant Finance Director. He also served as Acting Director of Finance from 2017 to 2019.
In his new role, Kwok will oversee the Port’s financial policies, budgets, capital projects, and debt management. He’ll also work to protect the Port’s strong AA+ credit rating, one of the highest among U.S. seaports.
Kwok brings nearly three decades of financial experience in both public and private sectors. Before joining the Port, he held leadership roles at International Paper and Johnson & Johnson.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern California.
The Port of Long Beach operates without tax funding, relying fully on its own revenues. Kwok’s appointment signals a continued focus on fiscal responsibility and long-term financial health.
