Port of Hamburg appoints new members in Supervisory Board

Marcus Vitt will join HHLA’s Supervisory Board and assume the role of Chairman, succeeding Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube, who will step down on 30 September 2025.
Senator Dr. Andreas Dressel and Katharina Kriston will also join the Supervisory Board.
Senator Dr. Melanie Leonhard, representing HHLA’s majority shareholder, Port of Hamburg Beteiligungsgesellschaft, expressed gratitude to Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube for his eight-year tenure as Chairman, noting his leadership through significant global and company developments.
She extended best wishes for his future and welcomed Marcus Vitt, a finance expert, as his successor.



In addition to Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube, Andreas Rieckhof (State Secretary of the Economic Authority) and Dr. Sibylle Roggencamp (Head of the Office for Investment Management in the Authority for Finance and Districts) will also leave the Supervisory Board on 30 September 2025.
Following agreement with the Nomination Committee, Marcus Vitt, Chairman of the Hamburg Stock Exchange Council, Senator Dr. Andreas Dressel, Head of the Authority for Finance and Districts, and Katharina Kriston, Head of the Central Office of the Authority for the Economy, Employment and Innovation, will join the Supervisory Board effective 1 October 2025.
An application for their court appointment will be submitted soon.
The HHLA Supervisory Board comprises twelve members, equally split between employee and shareholder representatives.
Employee representatives are appointed per the German Co-Determination Act, while the City of Hamburg and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company each propose three members, with the City proposing the Chair.
