The Port of Bilbao will present its cruise facilities at Seatrade Europe in Hamburg from September 10–12. The fair gathers cruise operators, tour companies, and suppliers from around the world.
Bilbao will showcase its modern terminals in Getxo. The port offers three berths for ships of any size, just 20 minutes from the city center and close to the airport. Facilities include lounges, tourist services, ship support, and the Olatua terminal, designed to meet top European standards.
Cruise traffic has grown in 2025. Since the start of the season, 66 ships and more than 118,000 passengers have called at Bilbao. First-time calls came from Disney Cruise Line, Carnival, Ponant, Regent Seven Seas, and others. Fred Olsen and Windstar also made overnight stops.
The port is advancing the BilbOPS project. By 2027, all cruise terminals will supply shore power. This will cut emissions, reduce noise, and improve the passenger experience. Part of the energy will come from renewables, including solar panels at the port.
With strong facilities, sustainability projects, and a prime location, Bilbao is positioning itself as a key cruise destination.
Seatrade Europe 2025 will bring together 3,500 professionals, 250 exhibitors, and more than 70 cruise lines. The event will focus on sustainability, innovation, and the future of cruise tourism.
