Port of NY & NJ: One year anniversary of the arrival of the first large vessel

On September 7, 2018 the Port of New York and New Jersey celebrates the one-year anniversary of the arrival of the CMA CGM T. Roosevelt. This was the first of many large vessels to call on port terminals in Newark, Elizabeth and Staten Island after going under the newly raised Bayonne Bridge now with a navigational clearance of 215 feet. The 14,414 TEU vessel helped usher the Port into the future by announcing to the world that we are Big Ship Ready.

In commemoration of this historic moment, the Port of NY and NJ presents this video detailing the process of Raising the Bayonne Bridge and the significance of the CMA CGM T. Roosevelt passing underneath.
