Port Everglades in Broward County has set new benchmarks across all three of its core business sectors, cruise, cargo, and energy, based on preliminary Fiscal Year 2025 figures.
The port handled a record 1,167,552 TEUs, marking its strongest cargo performance to date. This milestone reflects growing trade demand and expanded capacity across Latin America, the Caribbean, and beyond.
In the energy sector, Port Everglades maintained its position as Florida’s top petroleum port, moving 131,855,261 barrels of petroleum products. The port supplies 12 counties and five international airports.
Cruise operations also hit historic highs, welcoming 4,773,873 guests, a 16% increase from the previous year. The port is now the third-busiest cruise homeport in the world and anticipates even higher volumes in Fiscal Year 2026 with 40 cruise ships from nine lines plus daily ferry service.
Port Everglades CEO Joseph Morris said the record-breaking performance underscores the strength of its partnerships and the resilience of its diversified operations.
With more than $3 billion in long-term capital improvements planned under its Master/Vision Plan, Port Everglades aims to further expand capacity, efficiency, and sustainability while continuing to drive economic growth in South Florida.
