Piraeus Port Authority recorded its highest-ever revenue and EBITDA figures for fiscal year 2025, demonstrating sustained growth across most business segments despite a challenging international environment.
Total revenue reached EUR€250.8 million, an increase of 8.6% or EUR€19.9 million compared to 2024.
EBITDA grew 2.2% to EUR€132.3 million, while profit after tax declined marginally by 1.5% to EUR€86.2 million.
Cash and cash equivalents stood at EUR€149.8 million at year end. Management has proposed a dividend of EUR€1.896 per share, consistent with the company’s policy of distributing 55% of net profit to shareholders.
The cruise sector was the standout performer, registering an all-time high in passenger traffic and a 24.8% increase in revenue, reinforcing Piraeus’s position as a leading cruise hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Container terminal activity demonstrated notable resilience despite the ongoing closure of the Suez Canal route due to the Red Sea crisis.
Pier I, directly managed by PPA, grew revenue by 17% and reported net profitability for the first time in its history. Piers II and III recorded a 10.8% revenue increase despite lower throughput in the second half of the year.
Transshipment cargo across the car terminal segment rose by 17.6%, offsetting a 5.4% revenue decline attributable to extraordinary storage revenues recorded in the prior year.
Ferry sector revenue fell by 28.4% following a reduction in port fees introduced from May 2025 at the request of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, aimed at maintaining affordable ferry ticket prices.
Passenger and vehicle numbers continued to grow, however, confirming Piraeus’s central role in domestic island connectivity. The ship repair zone maintained strong activity but saw revenue decline by 7.2% due to a four-month maintenance shutdown affecting one of its docks.
CEO Su Xudong described 2025 as a year that confirmed the company’s steady growth trajectory, crediting strategic discipline and employee dedication for delivering positive results in a demanding operating environment.
