Greece’s Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT) has concluded a trial phase with Portchain Connect, effectively showing PCT’s potential in digitising the berth management process.
With digital handshakes and safe data sharing, Piraeus Container Terminal will improve the quality and speed of its berth alignment with clients.
PCT may now receive real-time schedule and move count updates directly from carrier systems, allowing for immediate answers and counter-proposals to align the vessel schedule with the terminal berth plan.
Furthermore, Portchain Connect streamlines the flow of scheduled data, reducing the time required to align the berthing window. The technology enables terminals and carriers to send and receive high-quality data while reducing information transmission latency.
Also, Portchain Connect gives users an easy-to-understand overview of all their vessel calls and assures that they may securely transfer berthing information, eliminate the expenses associated with manual non-digitized communication, and align on berthing windows to increase schedule reliability.
