Pacific International Lines has completed its first intermodal shipment in Costa Rica, marking a new milestone for its Central America operations.
The 40-foot container, carrying vehicle parts, moved from Ningbo, China to Buenaventura, Colombia on PIL’s West Coast South America Service 6. It was then transshipped to Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica via the newly launched West Coast Central America Feeder 1 service.

From Puerto Caldera, the container continued its journey by truck to San José, Costa Rica’s capital.
PIL said the new intermodal corridor strengthens its ability to serve customers beyond the port. The solution extends cargo reach inland and improves access to the Costa Rican market, reinforcing the company’s customer-focused approach.
