Persian Gulf conflict fails to hit charter demand

Maersk has announced a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for shipments from the US Gulf to the West Coast of South America.

The charter market has remained resilient amid the Middle East disruption, with Maersk remaining particularly active due to its less active newbuilding orderbook.

The Danish line has chartered a few medium to large container ships from non-operating owners and shipping lines to plug their tonnage gap.
