Peel Ports joins Sedex

UK-based port operator Peel Ports Group announced that it will join Sedex, a supply chain sustainability data, insights and services company.

As part of this commitment, Peel Ports Group will now be part of a global collaborative platform, connecting buyers, suppliers, and auditors.

This platform enables organisations to share and access essential data related to supplier ethical and sustainable practices. Additionally, Sedex, renowned for its assessment tools, services, and extensive network, empowers companies to adopt more responsible and sustainable business practices.

According to Peel Ports Group, the platform will foster cooperation between companies and their suppliers to better manage their social and environmental performance while improving conditions for those working within the supply chain. This includes promoting ethical trading and conducting relevant audits.

Head of procurement at Peel Ports Group, James Riddick said, “This platform will enable us to work together with suppliers to better manage our social and environmental performance and protect people working in the supply chain.”

Peel Ports’s participation in the platform follows the same decisions of other large global companies, such as Unilever, Kellogg’s and M&S.
