Patrick Terminals signs 10-year strategic deal with Kalmar

Patrick Terminals has signed a 10-year supply agreement with Kalmar. The partnership has supported Australia’s leading container terminals for over 20 years.

The agreement strengthens Patrick’s leadership in straddle operations. It supports ongoing investment in equipment and automation. Patrick plans to improve efficiency, safety, and decarbonisation at its terminals.

Kalmar will maintain a skilled local automation team in Australia. The team will support current and future automation projects across Patrick’s terminal network.

The announcement coincided with the 20th anniversary of automated straddle operations at Patrick’s Brisbane AutoStrad Terminal. CEO Michael Jovicic said, “We look forward to building on two decades of automation leadership. This partnership will deliver the next generation of performance improvements for Australia’s supply chain.”

Karri Keskinen, Kalmar’s Head of Global Sales, Horizontal Transportation, who will lead Kalmar Oceania from January 1, 2026, said, “We commit to continuous improvement and operational excellence with Patrick Terminals. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver efficient straddle solutions in Oceania.”
