
OrbitMI has appointed Egil Husby to its Board of Directors, strengthening its strategic and industry expertise.
Husby is a veteran of the shipping sector with more than 20 years of experience in freight risk, strategy, and transformation. He spent 17 years at Western Bulk, most recently as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer. There, he drove long-term business planning, fleet optimisation, and the use of algorithmic trading. He also served as Chief Risk Officer, General Manager for Asia, and Corporate Risk Manager during his tenure.
Ali Riaz, CEO of OrbitMI, said Husby’s mix of analytical skills and operational experience will help the company turn maritime data into smarter decisions.
Husby began his career at Norsk Hydro ASA and holds an MBA from the University of Adelaide and a Master of Engineering in Applied Mathematics from NTNU. He said he looks forward to helping OrbitMI deliver practical, customer-focused solutions for shipowners and operators.
