ONE Trust, equipped with wind deflector, arrives in France

The 20,170 TEU container vessel ONE Trust is the first ship in the world to be equipped with a wind deflector on the bow.

The vessel of Ocean Network Express (ONE) arrived in Le Havre, France in the previous week, making its first port of call after the installation of the new device.

ONE Trust is the only, of a series of six 20,170 TEU container ships, to be equipped with this device.

The installation was carried out at the Quindao Beihai Shipyard in China and this equipment should improve aerodynamics of the container ship, while reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

This experiment is part of the shipowners’ energy transition strategy by reducing their fuel consumption and their greenhouse gas emissions.
