Ocean Network Express (ONE) has entered into a long-term strategic partnership with Dongwon Group, acquiring an indirect stake in Dongwon Global Terminal Busan (DGT) to strengthen its presence in South Korea.

DGT is the country’s first fully automated container terminal, utilizing Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) technology to enhance operational efficiency. Once fully developed, the terminal will have a capacity exceeding 4.5 million TEU, supported by five berths with a total quay length of 1,750 meters and an additional feeder berth of 385 meters.

The investment is expected to enhance ONE’s service reliability and operational capabilities in Busan, a major transshipment hub in Northeast Asia.

By securing access to terminal capacity, ONE aims to optimize cargo flows and improve the efficiency of transshipment operations, ultimately strengthening network stability for its customers.

“This strategic partnership supports our long-term growth ambitions and ensures consistent, high-quality service for our customers,” said Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE’s Product and Network division.

“By securing direct access to capacity in this key port region, customers can benefit from more reliable and stable connections within Asia and the broader global network,” he added.

The move reflects ONE’s continued focus on enhancing its network resilience and service quality through targeted infrastructure investments in key global logistics hubs.
