ONE introduces new service connecting Europe with South America

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the launch of the Latin-East-Coast Europe Express (LUX), a new weekly service linking Europe and the Mediterranean to South America’s East Coast.

The first LUX sailing will depart the port of Montevideo on 16 September, while the port rotation of the service will be as follows:

Rotterdam (Netherlands) – London Gateway (UK) – Hamburg (Germany) – Antwerp (Belgium) – Lisbon (Portugal) – Algeciras (Spain) – Santos (Brazil) – Paranagua (Brazil) – Montevideo (Uruguay) – Buenos Aires (Argentina) – Itapoa (Brazil)– Paranagua (Brazil) – Santos (Brazil) – Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) – Algeciras (Spain) – Rotterdam (Netherlands)

According to the Singaporean container line, the LUX is the company’s first dedicated service connecting Europe and the Mediterranean to the East Coast of South America.

ONE expects to provide a competitive northbound transit time from the East Coast of South America to the Mediterranean and Europe, offering customers a competitive alternative to the existing products on the market, especially for refrigerated cargo.

“It is also the only service on the market making a direct call from Lisbon to the East Coast of South America, providing customers with the opportunity to ship from these unique port pairs,” noted ONE in a statement.
