ONE Apus set to leave Kobe

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has said its vessel, the ONE Apus which lost 1,860 containers in a storm in the North Pacific on 30 November is preparing to leave Japan’s Kobe Port, where is has discharged damaged containers and been repaired.

[s2If is_user_logged_in()]According to the latest company information, which is subject to change the vessel is due to leave port on Monday 15 March with an arrival date of 30 March in the Southern Californian Port of Long Beach.

ONE emphasised that there is no guarantee that the vessel will depart on this date and the timing is “subject to change”. However, “The general plan is to back-load as many original sound and transloaded containers on ONE Apus as [is] reasonably possible.”

The company said that it is likely that some containers originally onboard the ONE Apus may need to be loaded aboard different vessels “due to safety and/or operational constraints”.

Other containers may also be loaded onto alternative vessels if the required documentation cannot be completed before the given cut-off time. If cargo is delayed by documentation issues ONE said it will contact customers individually to advise of them of the new arrangements.

The carrier added, “We are currently at the final stage of processing the necessary documentation for all containers sailing on ONE Apus. At this moment, kindly note Bill of Lading documentation should have been updated by now and customers are requested to take immediate action as follows: 1/ Specific customers (applicable only for self-filers with House BLs [bills of lading] or any exceptional case) to complete AMS submission where necessary.”
