Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE) and MTI Ltd. have established a joint venture, QUAVEO Company Limited, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in December 2025.
The new company aims to accelerate digital transformation across operations and business models by applying artificial intelligence, with a focus on creating new value for the container shipping industry.
QUAVEO brings together ONE’s operational expertise in global container shipping and MTI’s capabilities in AI technology and application. The partners said the joint venture will promote industry-wide digital transformation by developing practical AI use cases that can be deployed directly in day-to-day operations.
ONE operates a global container fleet of more than 260 vessels and provides services connecting over 120 countries. As market demands diversify, pressure to improve efficiency grows, and customer expectations rise, the need for AI-driven digital transformation has intensified across the shipping sector.
The industry also faces challenges such as labour shortages, decarbonisation requirements, and heightened safety expectations, increasing the urgency for new operational models.
MTI brings experience in providing digital services to consumers, corporations, and local governments, along with expertise in AI development.
The company focuses on “AI-driven digital transformation,” which places artificial intelligence at the centre of business model redesign, operational processes, and value creation, rather than limiting efforts to basic digitisation.
The partners said QUAVEO was established to address operational challenges and deliver new value for customers by combining ONE’s industry knowledge with MTI’s strengths in AI-enabled talent development.
A key objective is to develop AI professionals who understand real operational environments, enabling faster development and deployment of effective AI solutions at the operational level.
