ONE acquires stake in Indonesian box terminal

Ocean Network Express (ONE) announced the successful acquisition of a minority stake in New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1), which is located in Jakarta, Indonesia.

NPCT1 is a key terminal supporting established gateway markets across Southeast Asia. Established in 2016, the terminal boasts an annual capacity of 1.5 million TEUs and is equipped to handle advanced mega container ships, thanks to its deep drafts and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

This acquisition underscores ONE’s willingness to strengthen its operations. Following its recent investments in terminal stakes in the US West Coast and Europe, the new strategic asset is expected to enable the company to improve service quality, ensuring faster and more reliable delivery for its customers.

“NPCT1 is an efficient and green terminal that is strategically located in a fast-developing region. A stake in this terminal ensures access to capacity in a key gateway and supports our growth ambitions,” stated Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE’s Product & Network Division.
