Ocean Technologies Group deploys Compas for maritime solutions

Ocean Technologies Group (OTG) has integrated Netvision’s Compas, a crew management software as a service (SaaS), into its services aiming to optimise its learning and fleet management solutions.

OTG believes the ongoing crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic has introduced significant disruptions to seafarers and their shore-based colleagues in operations such as crew changes, training, procurement and maintenance.

While these conditions have made the support of seafarers “more important than ever”, ship managers are increasingly turning to SaaS that they can integrate across their fleet to enable compliant and efficient performance from their workforce and the vessels they manage, according to the learning and operational technology company OTG.

The Group is serving over a million seafarers connecting them with maritime professionals ashore as well as providing support both in their work and career development.

With the merging of the cloud-based innovator Netvision, OTG expects to grow its capability to further empower seafarers and maritime professionals at sea and ashore.

Manish Singh, CEO of OTG, said that the companies have a combined track record of over a hundred years in pro-actively delivering solutions for the most pressing challenges facing seafarers and ship managers.

He went on to note, “The current operating environment demands unified solutions to manage complex operations with efficient labour-saving workflows and improved data portability,” and went on to add, “We have a comprehensive investment program backing Cornel and the Compas team to add implementation and development capacity and bring transformative solutions to our customers.”
