Ocean Network Express unveils sustainable shipping solution

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has introduced its new environmentally friendly shipping service called ONE LEAF+.

This service is specifically crafted to align with the shared decarbonization goals of the shipping sector. ONE LEAF+ empowers customers to actively oversee their emissions and reduce their environmental footprint throughout the entire value chain.

ONE LEAF+ provides customers with various advantages, such as:

1. Decreased Carbon Footprint: ONE will utilize compliant alternative fuels on selected vessels, enabling customers to lower Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions associated with their shipments through ONE.

2. Improved Transparency: Through ONE LEAF+, customers will obtain certification detailing the CO2 equivalent savings, verified by an independent third-party verifier for their shipments with ONE. This empowers them to monitor their advancement toward sustainability objectives.

3. Strengthened Collaborations: ONE will persist in partnering with similarly dedicated entities involved in sustainability endeavours.

“At ONE, we are fully committed to our target of achieving net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. The launch of ONE LEAF+ underscores our commitment to sustainability and provides our customers with the tools and transparency they need to make informed choices about their Scope 3 GHG emissions,” explained Gilberto Santos, senior vice president, of Global Commercial Service Management at ONE.

According to a statement, alternative fuels and carbon management represent the cornerstone initiatives for ONE as it endeavours to achieve its ambitious goal of net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, encompassing both Scope 2 and Scope 3, by the year 2050. ONE remains committed to executing the strategies delineated in its roadmap to realize this net-zero objective by 2050.
