Northwest Seaport Alliance appoints new COO

The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA), an alliance between the US ports of Tacoma and Seattle, announced the appointment of Jeff Bellerud as Chief Operating Officer.

In this role, he will be responsible for the oversight of comprehensive marine operations, encompassing rail, road, terminals, breakbulk operations, and effective waterway management.

Bringing a wealth of strategic-level expertise in terminal operations and Class 1 railroads, Jeff’s career journey extends across the West Coast, from Los Angeles to Vancouver, British Columbia. In his most recent position as the director of Intermodal and port Operations at CN Rail, Jeff played a key leadership role in directing port operations.

His responsibilities included overseeing 14 marine terminals spread across seven port authorities in North America, and he successfully managed all operational facets for seven inland terminals in Western Canada.

“I believe the Northwest Seaport Alliance has big things on the horizon. I am excited to be leading a dynamic team to continue to drive operational value for our partners and this gateway,” stated Jeff Bellerud, who a future for the NWSA that prioritises the well-being of waterfront workers, assists customers in navigating uncertainties within the marketplace, and solidifies NWSA’s position as the preferred gateway in the realm of global trade.
