
NorthStandard has appointed Michael Hustler as its new Head of Asia Pacific, reinforcing the global marine insurer’s commitment to growth, service expansion, and diversification in the region.
Firstly, Mr Hustler officially assumes the role on 27 October 2025, succeeding David Roberts, who will leave NorthStandard in February 2026. Also, he brings 16 years of claims and underwriting experience with NorthStandard, most recently serving as Head of Underwriting, Asia Pacific.
Based in Singapore, Mr Hustler will oversee the day-to-day operations across NorthStandard’s Asia Pacific offices, working closely with local teams to deliver and expand services to members. He will ensure regional initiatives align with the club’s overall strategy and report to Chief Strategy Officer Ed Davies.
“Mike’s risk management expertise and deep understanding of member needs have been pivotal in strengthening our Asia Pacific presence,” said Ed Davies. “His leadership has significantly contributed to the development of our underwriting strategy across the region.”

NorthStandard maintains a strong regional presence with nine offices across Asia Pacific, including Singapore, Tokyo, Imabari, Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Nelson.
