NORDEN has acquired the Southern African cargo activities of Taylor Maritime, previously operated under the IVS brand, strengthening its regional presence and expanding its parcelling capabilities. As part of the deal, NORDEN will take over the specialist parcelling team based in Durban, South Africa, led by Brandon Paul, who will continue serving customers on parcel trades from the region.
“We are delighted that Brandon and his team join NORDEN as we are committed to further grow our activity and customer offering in Southern Africa,” said NORDEN CEO Jan Rindbo. “With a fleet of over 400 vessels, we are looking to further expand our business in the region and offer our customers fully flexible solutions.”
The Durban office becomes NORDEN’s third location in Africa, joining existing offices in Ivory Coast and Gabon. The company highlighted the region’s strong potential, driven by rapid economic growth and an expanding mining sector. NORDEN said that having a local presence is essential for building close relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
The move marks NORDEN’s third acquisition in three years, following its purchase of Thorco Projects in 2023 and Norwegian parcelling specialist Norlat Shipping in 2024. Both firms have since been integrated into NORDEN’s Freight Services & Trading business unit.
“Today’s acquisition further strengthens our parcelling strategy, making us a more customer-centric company,” Rindbo added. “The project cargo segment is more specialised and niche than our traditional activities, requiring technical expertise and tailored solutions. We look forward to bringing these services to even more customers worldwide.”
The acquisition amount was not disclosed and does not impact NORDEN’s full-year 2025 guidance. The transaction has received all required merger clearances.
