Noatum, Hafeet Rail to launch UAE-Oman freight service

Noatum Logistics, part of AD Ports Group, has signed a preliminary agreement with Hafeet Rail to establish a dedicated freight rail service between Sohar, Oman, and Abu Dhabi, UAE. The deal was announced at the Global Rail 2025 exhibition in Abu Dhabi.

The planned service will operate seven container trains per week, each carrying 276 TEUs, targeting an annual throughput of roughly 193,200 TEUs. The service will handle 20ft, 40ft, and 45ft containers, covering general cargo, manufactured goods, food products, pharmaceuticals, and agrifoods.

Samir Chaturvedi, CEO of Noatum Logistics, said the partnership strengthens regional supply chains, enables sustainable transport, and supports UAE-Oman economic integration. Ahmed Al Musawa Al Hashemi, CEO of Hafeet Rail, highlighted the service’s role in improving cross-border container transport efficiency and sustainability.

Rail freight offers a greener, cost-effective alternative to road transport, moving large volumes with lower fuel consumption and reduced carbon emissions. The agreement builds on Hafeet Rail’s existing shuttle service between Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals, launched in Q3 2024, positioning the railway as a key driver of regional integration and sustainable logistics.
