Ningbo Zhoushan hits 1 million TEU milestone in the first 10 days of the year

The Ningbo Zhoushan Port has already surpassed 1 million TEUs from the beginning of the year. The major Chinese container hub handled 1.05 million TEUs from 1 to 10 January, translating to a 10.75% year-on-year increase.

Meanwhile, on 10 January, the Ningbo Zhousan Port received two giant container vessels, MSC Zoe and Merry Maersk each with over 18,000 TEU capacity. The following day, a total of 10 container ships were berthed in the port area of Punjab with 45 bridge cranes, 122 gantry cranes and 356 trucks carrying out lifting and transport operations.

The average daily container throughput of the port’s Chuanshan Port Container Terminal has hit 33,000 TEUs since the New Year, while in early January, the container throughput at Meishan Port, a sub-port of Ningbo, surpassed 289,000 TEUs, with an average of 34 bridge crane operations.
