New York/New Jersey battens down the hatches for Tropical Storm Isaias

The main container terminals in the port of New York and New Jersey have battened down the hatches to prepare for the imminent arrival of tropical storm Isaias.

APM Terminals, PNCT, CGT and Maher all closed their inbound gates today between 11:00 EDT and 12:00 EDT to prepare “inclement weather and tropical storm conditions”. The ports truck service centre was closed at 12:30 EDT.

The largest port on the US east coast is due to bear the brunt of the tropical storm through to Wednesday.
