
On September 23, 2025, New Times Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. successfully launched two 8,100 TEU container vessels, MSC Senegal and MSC Uganda, at its yard in Jiangsu Province, China. The launch marks another milestone for one of the country’s leading shipyards, which has consistently ranked among the top three in annual shipbuilding capacity.
Located in Xingang Industrial Park, Jingjiang City, about 10 kilometers downstream from Jiangyin Bridge, New Times benefits from excellent water and land transport access. The yard covers 1.6 million square meters, with a shoreline of 3,200 meters and assets totaling around RMB 20 billion. With three drydocks, three outfitting jetties, and a workforce of some 3,200 employees, the shipyard has the capacity to deliver up to 5 million DWT annually, including vessels ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 tonnes.
New Times also operates its own government-certified design and research center and collaborates closely with leading domestic and international ship design institutes. The company is certified under Quality, Safety, Environment, and Energy Management systems, supporting its reputation for safe and efficient production.
