The Burunday Container Terminal (BCT), a new multimodal logistics hub in the Almaty industrial zone, has officially opened, marking a major boost to Kazakhstan’s growing transit and logistics sector.

The opening took place during the 28th TransLogistica Kazakhstan exhibition, where visitors toured the terminal and explored its digital operations powered by Solvo.TOS, a modern terminal operating system.

Construction began in July 2024, with the first container train processed earlier this year. Now fully operational, BCT offers rail and road links, modern handling equipment, and an automated management system that integrates planning, operations, and reporting.

Kazakhstan’s transit volumes have surged in recent years, with container rail traffic from China via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) rising sharply. To meet this demand, BCT was built as a next-generation facility featuring full workflow automation.

“Automation is key to achieving international standards in logistics,” said Pulat Khaitov, General Director of Burunday Container Terminal. “Solvo.TOS enables us to deliver efficient, transparent, and scalable operations from day one.”

The terminal spans 16.5 hectares and can handle more than 100,000 TEU per year. Future expansion plans include warehouse facilities for logistics providers, distributors, and retailers.
