
Almost all the dozen 1,800 TEU container ships that Chinese feeder operator Starocean Marine commissioned as newbuildings at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding during the COVID-19-fuelled boom have been sold.
Brokers’ reports show that the latest sale involved the H Mercury (since renamed Little Mermaid), was sold to Greek tonnage provider Minerva Marine for US$34.5 million, translating into a profit over the construction price of US$23 million.
