The New York-listed Navios Maritime Partners has confirmed the acquisition of six new container ships (four plus two optional) for a total of US$369.6 million (US$61.6 million each).
The newbuildings will have a capacity of 5,300TEU each and are anticipated to be delivered during the second half of 2023 and 2024, according to a company’s statement.
With the new additions, the Piraeus-based container carrier will own 43 boxships, with a total capacity of more than 215,000TEU.
In the meantime, Navios Partners has announced that its adjusted EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortisation) has reached US$90.4 for the second quarter and US$124.1 million for the first half of the year, with the net income marking US$99.9 million for Q2 and US$236.6 million for H1.
At the same time, the company’s revenue was US$152 million for the second quarter of 2021 and US$217.1 million for the first six months of the year.
