MSC to enhance US-South Africa service

MSC will commence an enhanced standalone US to South Africa service in October. The Swiss/Italian box line will deploy eight container ships, including four additional vessels, for consistent weekly connections.

“This move will ensure service continuity and strengthen MSC’s commitment as the sole carrier offering a direct link between South Africa and the US East Coast,” said the company in a statement.

The port rotation of the service will be as follows:

Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth, South Africa) – Durban (South Africa) – Cape Town (South Africa) – New York (US) – Baltimore (US) – Norfolk (US) – Charleston (US) – Freeport (US) – Gqeberha
