MSC upgrades Türkiye – UK West Coast service

MSC has announced a recent update to its Türkiye – UK West Coast service, which provides a connection between Türkiye and Liverpool and will now extend its reach to include the UK ports of Portbury and Greenock.

“This development offers customers a reliable route for cargo transportation between the UK and European markets as well as supporting the reduction of carbon emissions across their supply chain. With weekly direct calls, this revised rotation provides greater flexibility for customers shipping cargo to and from the UK West Coast,” said MSC in a statement.

In addition to a direct service offering, MSC offers “mother vessel to mother vessel” transshipments between India, Pakistan and the Far East, and the United Kingdom West Coast ports of Liverpool, Greenock and Portbury (via Sines).

MSC noted that Aliaga to Liverpool needs 12 days, Tekirdag to Greenock 17 days and Valencia to Bristol 14 days.

“Our dedicated intermodal operations via road and rail across the UK, Portugal, Türkiye, Spain and Greece offer customers a more flexible, efficient and sustainable way of moving cargo inland,” stated the Swiss/Italian ocean carrier.

The full port rotation of the service is Piraeus, Greece – Izmir, Türkiye  – Gebze, Türkiye – Gemlik, Türkiye – Tekirdag, Türkiye – Aliaga, Türkiye – Barcelona, Spain – Valencia, Spain – Sines, Portugal – Le Havre, France – Liverpool, UK – Greenock, UK – Liverpool – Portbury, UK – Le Harve – Valencia – Barcelona – Marsaxlokk, Malta.
