MSC to introduce Peak Season Surcharge on exports from Beira

MSC has announced the introduction of a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on all export cargo moving from the Port of Beira to destinations worldwide, as part of efforts to maintain reliable and efficient service levels during high-demand periods.

Effective 1 December 2025, the surcharge will be applied at a rate of USD 500 per unit for all global destinations.

For shipments from Beira to the USA and Puerto Rico, the PSS will take effect slightly later, starting 29 December 2025.

MSC advises customers to factor the surcharge into their logistics planning and to contact local MSC offices for any additional information or clarification.
