MSC, revised network

  • Details of revised Asia-US East Coast network now available, including transit times

  • Network to include the new Elephant Service between Thailand and the U.S.

  • MSC continues to offer Lone Star Express service outside of the new arrangements with ZIM

In reference to its previous communication of 19 July about the new 2M strategic cooperation with ZIM on the Asia – US East Coast trade, MSC is announcing further details about its revised Transpacific US East Coast network.

As previously communicated, there will be a combined operation of five loops between Asia and US East Coast as part of the new strategic cooperation.

In addition, MSC will continue to offer its Lone Star Express service, which is already included in its 2M vessel sharing agreement with Maersk Line, but was not included in the new arrangement with ZIM.

The revised network will improve MSC’s products across these regions and unveil new opportunities for shippers. Southeast Asian exporters will benefit from the Elephant trade, a new direct service between Laem Chabang port, Thailand, and US East Coast ports such as New York. The revised network will include calls at Colombo to facilitate shipping opportunities for cargo from nearby India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The updated network will be operational from early September.

For transit times information and full details, customers could visit MSC's dedicated services page.

The first departures in the new network are planned as follows:

  • America service – COLUMBINE MAERSK 837W departing SHEKOU 11/09
  • Empire service – MAERSK ALGOL 837E departing YANTIAN 14/09
  • Amberjack service – M/V TIANJIN 837E departing XINGANG 14/09
  • Emerald service – MAERSK STRALSUND 837E departing XIAMEN 13/09
  • NEW: Elephant service – M/V SANTA TERESA 837E departing LAEM CHABANG 15/09
