MSC has implemented significant changes to its Ecuador–North West Continent–USA (Ecuador–NWC–USA) service, removing calls at the US East Coast, the Baltic and several North European ports — a move that has prompted a series of adjustments across the carrier’s broader transatlantic network, according to Alphaliner and DynaLiners.
The updated Ecuador–NWC–USA loop now includes a call at Charleston, the only new addition to this service. Its revised rotation is: Moin, Antwerp, Rotterdam, St. Petersburg, Bremerhaven, Charleston, Freeport (Bahamas), Colon (Cristobal), Moin.
Several other MSC services have been restructured in response:
-
NEUSEC2 now includes a call at Philadelphia, with the new rotation as follows:
Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Le Havre, Philadelphia, New York, Norfolk, Baltimore, Savannah, Charleston, Bremerhaven. -
The Albatross pendulum loop has added Antwerp, Felixstowe and Boston, adjusting the rotation to include key North European and US East Coast gateways:
[… Far East], Felixstowe, London Gateway, Bremerhaven, Gdansk, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Felixstowe, Boston, New York, Freeport (Bahamas), [… back to Far East]. -
The Mexico Gulf Express service now features Felixstowe and Freeport (Bahamas). Its updated sequence is:
Felixstowe, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Freeport (Bahamas), Veracruz, Altamira, Houston, New Orleans, Mobile, Freeport, Felixstowe.
As part of the reshuffle, the Baltic ports of Klaipeda and Gdynia will no longer be served directly. Instead, they will be connected via transshipment through MSC’s new Baltic NWC–Spain & Portugal service. That loop calls:
St. Petersburg, Klaipeda, Riga, Gdynia, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Le Havre, Bilbao, Gijon, Vigo, Sines, Agadir, Antwerp, and back to St. Petersburg.
The coordinated adjustments are expected to streamline network efficiency and maintain coverage across key European, US East Coast and Latin American markets.
