MSC has crossed a significant milestone, with its total container fleet capacity exceeding 6.6 million TEUs, securing a commanding 20.5% share of the global container shipping market.
MSC’s current capacity is 6,656,469 TEUs according to Alphaliner.
This achievement reaffirms MSC’s status as the world’s largest container shipping line and highlights its aggressive expansion strategy in recent years.
According to the latest Alphaliner data, MSC current owned fleet stands at 628 vessels, with a combined capacity of 3,644,678 TEUs. Its forward-looking orderbook includes 125 vessels on order, which will add another 2,037,286 TEUs to its total capacity upon delivery.
