The Danish maritime data analysis company Sea-Intelligence has reported that global schedule reliability improved by 4.7% month to month in November 2022 and reached 56.6%.
The average delay for LATE vessel arrivals has also been improving consistently since the start of the year, according to the report.
Additionally, in November 2022, the average delay improved once again, dropping by another -0.58 days month to month to 5.04 days, according to the Danish analysts.
Sea-Intelligence said that both schedule reliability and average delay are now better than the 2020 level as well.
This month there was a change in the helm. With schedule reliability of 63.4%, MSC was the most reliable carrier in November 2022, overtaking Maersk which marked a reliability score of 61.7%. The 2M Alliance partners were the only carriers which achieved a reliability score over 60%. The next eight box carriers recorded schedule reliability of 50%-60%, while four container lines recorded schedule reliability of 40%-50%.
Taiwan’s major container shipping company Yang Ming recorded the lowest schedule reliability of 42.5% in November.
“Apart from Yang Ming, all of the top-14 carriers recorded a month-to-month improvement in schedule reliability, whereas all carriers recorded a double-digit year-to-year improvement in schedule reliability, with 12 carriers recording improvements of over 20 percentage points,” commented Alan Murphy, CEO of Sea-Intelligence.
