MSC limits Europe to Asia reefer bookings

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) will apply a temporary limitation on reefer container bookings from Europe to Asia, starting on 25 May for an indefinite period over coming weeks.

The Swiss-based container line said it is facing a significant shortage of equipment including reefer containers on the Europe-Asia trades, due to the current challenging market situation impacting port activities, and generating congestion across supply chains.

“MSC will continue to closely monitor the situation and will seek to find solutions for customers where possible, with a view to minimising disruption to the business,” said the company in its announcement.
