Based on information from DynaLiners, MSC has announced a new direct shipping service linking Australia and New Zealand with the U.S. East Coast. Named the Eagle service, the new route is set to launch in February 2026 and will operate with eleven vessels, whose sizes have not yet been disclosed.

The Eagle service will offer direct connectivity between Philadelphia and key ports in the Pacific and Oceania, including Savannah, Freeport, Balboa, Papeete, Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Tauranga, Colon (Cristobal), and back to Philadelphia. This service will be one of only three direct services currently operating on this trade lane.

The other two include Maersk’s OC service, which connects Philadelphia to Charleston, Balboa, Tauranga, Sydney, Melbourne, Port Chalmers, Colon, and Cartagena before returning to Philadelphia; and the PAD service jointly operated by CMA CGM and Marfret, connecting New York and Savannah to Papeete, Noumea, Brisbane, and Tauranga.

The addition of MSC’s Eagle service marks a significant enhancement in transpacific and Oceania-U.S. logistics, providing increased frequency and reliability for cargo moving between these high-demand regions.
