MSC introduces fresh European charges in March

The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced several new charges from European origin ports, which will take effect next month.

[s2If is_user_logged_in()]The Swiss-based line will apply new prices from a number of ports across Europe to Mexico and Canada, effective from 1 March.

All prices are in US dollars unless otherwise specified

The above rates are inclusive of the base rates (i.e. ocean freight rate) and are subject to:

  • CSF (Carrier Security Fee): US$11/container
  • EBS (Equipment Imbalance Surcharge): US$500/container
  • PSS (Peak Season Surcharge): US$500/container

In addition, MSC will implement fresh charges from the West Mediterranean and Adriatic to the United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. These rates will take effect on 10 March.

  • PSS (Peak Season Surcharge): US$500/container
  • EBS (Equipment Imbalance Surcharge):
    • Italy US$100/20′ – US$150/40′
    • Spain US$150/container
    • Portugal US$150/container 
    • Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Albania, Serbia US$150/container
    • France Fos-sur- Mer US$300/container
  • PCS (Panama Canal Surcharge) when applicable: US$260/container
