MSC extends Jua Express to Sri Lanka

MSC is set to extend its intra–East Africa Jua Express service to Sri Lanka, adding calls at Colombo and Hambantota, according to Alphaliner.

As part of the revision, Zanzibar will be reinstated on the rotation, while Mombasa, Kenya, will be removed. The changes will see the service shift from a single-vessel weekly loop to a fortnightly operation supported by two vessels with an average capacity of around 1,900 TEU each.

Following the update, the revised rotation will be: Colombo – Hambantota – Mogadishu – Zanzibar – Colombo.

The extension is expected to strengthen connectivity between East Africa and Sri Lanka while aligning the service structure with MSC’s wider regional network strategy.
