MSC enhances Origami service

MSC has announced the integration of its Oryx and Origami services to create an enhanced Origami Service directly linking Japan, South Korea, China, and Singapore with Tanzania and Kenya. The first vessel on the new rotation, MSC General IV (voyage number JL546A), is scheduled to depart from Tokyo on 9 November 2025.

The upgraded Origami Service will deliver stronger commercial and operational synergies across key Asian and East African markets, offering faster transit times, improved efficiency, and increased reliability. This development is expected to support growing trade in major sectors such as automotives, electronics, chemicals, and construction materials.

The new rotation will be: Tokyo – Yokohama – Yokkaichi – Nagoya – Busan – Ningbo – Singapore – Mombasa – Dar es Salaam – Singapore – Kaohsiung – Busan – Tokyo.

According to MSC, the service enhancement underscores its commitment to continuously optimize network coverage, strengthen regional connectivity, and facilitate new business opportunities for customers operating between Asia and East Africa.
