MPC Capital has completed the successful sale of the 3,500 TEU container vessel Rio Kobe, underscoring the company’s active asset management strategy within the maritime sector.
The vessel was acquired in 2024 together with selected investment partners. The transaction reflects a well-timed entry and exit, supported by strong commercial and technical management throughout the holding period.
Following the acquisition, a charter was concluded with a leading liner company, alongside a jointly executed retrofit programme. The upgrades delivered sustainable fuel savings and improved long-term operational efficiency, strengthening the vessel’s commercial performance.
Proactive industrial asset management during the ownership period further contributed to value creation.
The sale resulted in very attractive investment returns and serves as a clear example of MPC Capital’s ability to unlock value across the entire maritime investment lifecycle.
