MOSOLF Port Logistics & Services (MPLS) has opened a new terminal at the Port of Oostende. The move strengthens MPLS’s North Sea presence and adds capacity for vehicle handling, specialised logistics, and technical services.
The terminal covers 80,000 m² and can expand up to 200,000 m². It currently stores up to 3,000 vehicles and features a workshop and high-voltage charging infrastructure. With an 8–9 meter draught, it suits shortsea operations and around 80% of the global RoRo fleet.
Oostende complements MPLS’s network, including Zeebrugge, Wilhelmshaven, Cuxhaven, Koper, and other ports. Together, they form a robust, geographically diverse system for European and international vehicle logistics.
Steffen Klatte, MPLS Managing Director, said: “This terminal offers operational flexibility, growth potential, and integration with our existing structures. It strengthens efficiency and resilience in volatile supply chains.”
The site supports multimodal vehicle handling, technical services, and value-added logistics. It also handles high and heavy cargo, and project cargo, supporting energy and infrastructure projects.
Kai Wenhold, General Manager Port Logistics, added: “Oostende complements our flows and opens new market segments. It is fully integrated into our European port network.”
MPLS’s expansion aligns with Oostende’s development strategy in blue economy, offshore energy, and specialised logistics. The terminal lays the foundation for future growth and a long-term partnership with the port.
