MITSUI E&S Co., Ltd. has reached a major milestone with the shipment of its 500th MITSUI-PACECO Portainer® quay container crane, underscoring more than six decades of innovation in port infrastructure.
The commemorative 500th unit will be delivered to Phuoc An Port in Vietnam, expanding MITSUI E&S’s global presence across over 200 terminals in 30 countries.
MITSUI E&S began container crane development in 1961 through a partnership with PACECO Inc., a U.S. pioneer in container handling technology. In 1967, the company delivered Japan’s first quay container crane to Maya Pier in Kobe, marking the start of a long legacy in global container logistics.
Beyond quay cranes, MITSUI E&S continues to drive environmental innovation with its MITSUI-PACECO Transtainer® line, including electric, hybrid, and zero-emission hydrogen-powered models. The company is also advancing remote automation technologies to enhance port efficiency and safety.
“MITSUI E&S remains committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions that meet the evolving needs of the global logistics industry,” the company stated.
