Mikki Koskinen from Finland will serve as European Shipowners | ECSA President starting 1 January 2026 for a two-year term. Nikolas Veniamis from Greece joins as Vice-President. Koskinen succeeds Karin Orsel, who led the organization since January 2024.
Koskinen said, “European shipping is crucial for Europe’s food, energy, and supply chain security. The sector faces its greatest transformation yet with the energy transition, geopolitical uncertainty, and rising protectionism. ES|ECSA must provide a unified and strong voice, ensuring Europe remains competitive.”
Veniamis added, “European shipping carries 76% of the EU’s external trade. It is vital to maintain global competitiveness. I look forward to working with Mikki Koskinen and ECSA members to strengthen Europe’s shipping sector and its strategic role in the continent’s prosperity.”
