Mibau-Stema Nederland will open a second terminal at the Port of Amsterdam, strengthening its position in the Dutch aggregates market. The company developed the site in cooperation with the Port of Amsterdam.
The new terminal is located in Afrikahaven and covers around 50,000 square metres. It is expected to become operational in late Q2 or early Q3 2026. The terminal includes a newly built quay with a water depth of 13.5 metres. This allows Mibau-Stema’s latest self-discharging vessels to berth without restrictions.

The company will use the terminal to support higher production volumes from its quarries in Norway. From mid-2026, an additional two million tonnes of aggregates will be available for the Dutch market.
The expansion forms part of Mibau-Stema’s long-term growth strategy. The company is preparing for lower domestic supply after the completion of the Grensmaas project and reduced availability from North Rhine-Westphalia.
Mibau-Stema is also rolling out its Granobase product concept. The company aims to strengthen its role as a knowledge partner for government authorities and engineering firms in the Dutch civil engineering sector.
Frank Holzapfel, Managing Director of Mibau-Stema Nederland, said the new terminal will secure long-term supply and support more sustainable construction.
Koen Overtoom, CEO of the Port of Amsterdam, said the project confirms Mibau-Stema’s long-term commitment to the port and strengthens Amsterdam’s role as an import hub for aggregates, supported by sea, inland shipping, road, and rail.
