METRANS has deployed six Volvo FH Electric trucks in the Czech Republic, marking the country’s largest fleet of this kind. The move represents a major step in the company’s push toward sustainable logistics.
The trucks will be used mainly for first- and last-mile deliveries in urban and suburban areas, where reducing emissions and noise is critical. By adding electric trucks to its operations, METRANS aims to cut its carbon footprint and improve air quality in densely populated regions.
“Electric trucks are an investment in our future,” said Peter Kiss, CEO of METRANS. “They show that business and ecology can go hand in hand.”

John Muldoon, Director of Volvo Group Czech Republic, added that Volvo is proud to support METRANS in its sustainability drive. He described the Volvo FH Electric as a “powerful, zero-emission truck that meets the demands of modern logistics without compromise.”
The initiative complements METRANS’ long-standing efforts to shift freight from road to rail and support greener multimodal transport solutions. It also contributes to the HHLA Group’s wider goal of reaching climate-neutral production by 2040.
